KYC REQUIREMENTS (INDIA)
What is KYC?
KYC (Know Your Customer) is a mandatory verification process required by Indian customs to authenticate the consigneeβs identity and address before clearing shipments for delivery.
Is KYC required for every order shipped from the USA to India?
Yes, KYC verification is mandatory for all shipments to India, whether personal or commercial imports. Regulatory authorities: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
Do all shipping carriers require KYC for customs clearance?
Yes, all major carriers (Aramex, FedEx, DHL, UPS) require KYC for customs clearance.
Is PAN card mandatory?
No, PAN card is only mandatory for commercial shipments from the USA to India.
Can I use my passport as a valid KYC document?
Yes, an active passport is valid for customs clearance (expired passport is not accepted).
Are digital copies of KYC documents accepted?
Yes, digital copies are accepted if clear and legible.
Where do I submit my KYC documents?
You will receive an SMS, email, or WhatsApp from our carrier partner (e.g., Aramex) with a secure submission link.
What if I donβt submit my KYC on time?
Carriers send reminders for 21 days. After that, the order is cancelled and refunded.
What if my KYC address doesnβt match my shipping address?
If the shipping address doesnβt match the KYC document, the order will be returned to the USA, cancelled, and refunded.
What alternate documents can I use if my KYC has outdated address?
Alternate proof accepted: - Latest bank account statement (β€ 6 months old) - Electricity bill (β€ 6 months old) - LPG connection doc - Telephone/broadband bill (β€ 6 months old) - Employee ID - Valid rent agreement - Hostel/college ID with fee receipt
Will I have to pay duties when I receive the product?
No, all duties are prepaid on our website. You will never pay carriers (FedEx, Aramex, UPS, DHL) directly.
